Standup comedy

Do your friends often tell you that you’re so funny but couldn’t find a platform to express it? Don’t you wish your sense of humor to tickle everyone and not restrict within your circle? Also do you feel comedy varummmm aana varaadhuu? Then this will be your right place to keep your funny bone alive.

Stand Up Comedians usually write, direct and perform their own material. Standup comics are born at Open mics. If you are a fun loving chap, come and get entertained. If you are an aspiring stand-up comics give a shot and see if you can be a comedian. The newer/emerging/professional comedians can use this opportunity to test their material with the audience. The only way to know what is and isn’t working is through the real-time feedback.

Music

Unsure about your musical and singing skill but want to give it a test run? Then, this is the right place where you’ll find yourself in a pleasant and accepting environment populated by fellow music lovers always on the lookout for something new. This stage can be a platform for you to propel yourself into the peak of musical world. You never know, your future band mates may be sitting right beside you, just as unsure of how to make the first move.

Poetry and Story Telling

Thenalis, Vaalis and Shakespearans in and around the city, come and recite your poems or present stories written by you. This is an opportunity for you to share your written piece of art and get appreciated by the welcoming audience. Speak form the heart and make an impact with your powerful words.

Apart from oral, the story can be shared in the form of music, Singing, Stand up etc

Open Mic Night will be a new way for the performers and the audience to connect with each other. Meet new people and talents, and support the community in promoting the budding talents.

Terms and Conditions

General:

• Event Timings - the gates open by 5 pm | soundcheck happens between 5 pm to 5.30 pm | the show starts at 5.30 pm
• Parking is available in front of the event space.

Performers:

• Every individual performer gets a 7 minute slot, Duo and Group performance gets a 10 minute slot. Performers are expected to plan and execute their performances within 7 minutes.
• Performance slots are limited and no on-spot registrations allowed.
• Performers must comply to the slots given to them and the same will be informed during the event.
• Musicians, kindly bring your own instrumentents and they will not be provided at the event venue. Karaoke tracks should be shared with the sound in-charge before the event starts. 
• Please avoid personal attack and help us in maintaining the spirit of the event.
• No age restrictions.
• All languages are accepted.

Audience:

Doors will be closed at 6 pm and no entries will be allowed after the commencement of the event. Please be mindful of the event and support all the performances.
